The Spinner album from Jah Wobble and Brian Eno has been a major listen recently. I think it was Jah Wobble adding to versions of a score that Eno had written for a Derek Jarman film called Glitterbug.
It almost has the sound of The Orb (Orbus Terrarum period) without the samples. Very mid 90's in a fantastic way.
There is one track that had this sound that really reminded me of an amazing track I heard a couple of years ago.
Its on the second track Like Organza and its a bell sound.
It really makes me think of this beautiful rendition of Lou Reed's Temporary thing. Regis and Ann Margaret Hogen. What a track. I think I'd heard the instrumental off Regis's Floor Will Rise album from 2021.. and there's that bell again. Almost asynchronus, just popping up when it was needed.
I loved the instrumental but Regis' vocal is what really brings it together, oh and the bell!
